A 45-year-old dump truck driver was killed after blowing a tire on the New Jersey Turnpike in Burlington County on Wednesday morning.

Nelson Gonzalez was driving south near mile post 55.2 in Chesterfield at about 10:50 a.m. when the truck veered off the truck lanes to the right and struck a guard rail and chain link fence, State Police said.

Gonzalez, of Manville, was pronounced dead at the scene, about 2 miles north of Exit 7.

The right truck lane was closed for about seven hours for an investigation.
